This is by far the worst AC adapter I've had for a portable gaming system. It barely charges the battery + it's life span is incredibly short. I've got at least 2 and a half months at the most before It die out. I've had plenty of AC adapter from DS's and old gameboys over the years, that last 5-10x longer.
