Although another matching blocks game, this one stands out with a set goal to achieve (building the monuments), and the backgrounds help mix up the formula a bit. You start out with the usual square grid full of blocks, but as you progress the grid itself starts to change shape, adding to the difficulty. After all, it can be very hard to match three or more blocks when you are only given two columns right next to each other. You have to have a good deal of patience, but you also have to be on your toes all the time. There are plenty of powerups available to help you out as well. The controls are easy to understand and use; the colors are vibrant and the shapes stand out from each other quite clearly. In addition to the normal Bejeweled-style gameplay, you can also tackle the "Rune Quest" section of the game, where you try to match up a certain number of particular blocks before time runs out. The developers have done a great job of adding some excitement and variety to a common idea. My only real pet peeve with this game is that once you build all of the seven monuments, there is nowhere else to go after that. All you can do is start over with the exact same task. I think the company could have expanded more on the main game, adding more tasks, but it is still very entertaining. If you like Bejeweled and the other games like it, I suggest you give this one a try.Get more detail about 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.
